4 Gift Ideas for Men

Tis the season – the season to run all around to stores and shops (but maybe less this year), wondering what on Earth your loved ones might not hate. Buying Christmas presents has always been an uphill struggle, and for every friend you know exactly what to get, there’s at least three you haven’t the faintest idea about what they would appreciate.

Well, the good news is, we’re here to help. We did the legwork for you and we assembled a list of some of the most popular and timeless gift ideas to help you on your Christmas quest.

1.   You can never go wrong with cologne.

Colognes (and perfumes, or unisex fragrances) are a universally appreciated gift, although bear in mind it can be a tad personal (so only offer it to someone close, like a partner or a brother). Now, what fragrance you pick will depend on his particular style. If you can get a peek (or rather, a sniff) of their regular perfume, you might get a better idea of what sort of scent they like. If not, light musky scents never fail, nor does one of the most popular and historic fragrances, Supernatural Number Six (a timeless fragrance actually worn by George Washingon)!

2.   Facial hair, facial care!

We tend to think only women enjoy personal care gifts like creams, lotions, and gels, but that’s simply not true. You can never go wrong with a set of high quality shaving creams, basically because it will be put to good use, sooner or later! And if the special man in your life is going through a beardy phase right now, roll with it by getting him a nice beard balm to keep that facial hair in peak condition.

Tip: This is another of them intimate gifts, so keep this one for the men closest to you.

3.   For the adventurer in your life, help him travel in style!

If the man you’re buying a gift for has a pronounced sense of adventure, then use that to your advantage this holiday season. Gift him a sleek wash bag (also known as a dopp bag) to carry all his shaving equipment and facial care products in. Or, if that feels a little too personal, you might opt for a nice, patterned coin purse. Practical and manly - what’s not to like?

Oh, and speaking of traveling in style, there’s no way to do that without some nice, fragrant travel size cologne. Even though we’re not all traveing right now, it’s going to be very handy when we’re all able to take those vacations we’ve been delaying. These little sprays are small enough to go through TSA and fit in any cabin luggage. They’re also just big enough to carry a good dose of scent for those faraway business meetings, or the most remote beaches for a nice vacation getaway.

4.   With a brush and a shave…

We talked about facial hair grooming products, and those make a great gift in and of themselves, but if that doesn’t feel like enough, or if you can’t decide on a specific aroma, why not get him a shaving brush instead? There is something timeless and uber-elegant about an old school shaving brush, and the man in your life will no doubt appreciate that. And what goes better with a shaving brush than a traditional double edge safety razor? Think about it, a nice, sleek handle, a fine, sharp razor edge - all he needs for that close shave and that million dollars look!

At the end of the day, what matters most is not the gift itself, but rather the thought behind it!
